The other night, something came over me, and I decided that I was a glutton for punishment. So, I donned my running shoes, several layers of clothes, and hit the snow-filled streets of Wilmore, KY. The first 30 seconds of my run, I was jamming out to Coldplay, feeling all warm, and thinking, "Snow is the most beautiful, most magical creation in the world!" And....at 31 seconds, I was no longer warm, had slipped a couple of times on the "magical snow," and my ipod started to die. :(
But, I was still able to admire the beauty of God's creation in the moonlight. If you ever have the opportunity to run in a small town on a quiet night after a big snow, DO IT! It really is magical. But, be sure that you have the optic clarity of a cat - you'll need it to spot the archenemy of all runners: black ice.
